Solved Example of Paper Size Conversion

Example:

For the blueprint of the plot, paper is required of the dimension 38cm x 46.5cm. What should be the size of paper to buy?

Solution:

To calculate the size of the paper, we need to refer to the above table, where the dimensions are given in mm.

So we have to convert the given dimension of 38 cm x 46.5 cm into mm first.

For that, we will multiply both units in cm by 10.

So, we get dimensions as 380 mm x 465 mm.

Now, we will check the above chart for the nearby values.

We will get nearby dimensions as 420 × 594 (in mm) for the A2 size paper.

So, for the dimension of 38 cm x 46.5 cm, we need A2 size paper.
